This solid field of hungry contenders is sure to treat spectators to an unmissable thoroughbred flat racing experience.

The 28 runners are headed by race favourite Genki from the stables of Roger Charlton. Considered a hot ticket since his spectacular win in the Conditions Stakes at Haydock on 3rd July Genki is now ready to take on the big boys in the Stewards’ Cup under the guidance of jockey Steve Drowne. Drowne also held the reins is Genki’s Haydock victory this month. Genki is a tremendously experienced race horse with 21 career starts under his belt, including six wins, five runner ups and one third place.

Another contender to keep an eye on is the wonderful Palace Moon. Trained by William Knight and paired with Kieren Fallon for the Stewards’ Cup, Palace Moon is ready to finally live up to his full potential. The gelding’s latest appearance in the 32Red Trophy (formerly known as the Bunbury Cup) at Newmarket saw Palace Moon missing out on a victory by a neck to St Moritz. This Saturday however, the Palace Moon’s connections expect their charge to show his true form and blow the competition out of the water.

If you would like to back one of the favourites or another one of these outstanding racing thoroughbreds in the Bluesquare.com Stewards’ Cup at the Glorious Goodwood Festival, visit William Hill – or any other of our selected online bookmakers – for great odds and convenient internet betting.
